 Host Support
 Drew McIntyre

While many fellow 15-year-olds were worried about sitting at the “popular table” at lunchtime, Drew McIntyre was already training to become a WWE Superstar. He didn’t have to wait terribly long to achieve his dream, either, as the endlessly athletic Scotsman skyrocketed from the U.K. independent scene to the big show, WWE, at just age 22. The outlook was so bright for the 6-foot-5 McIntyre that when he first arrived, Mr. McMahon labeled him a “future World Champion.” The Chairman was eventually proven correct, though fulfilling that prophecy did not come easily for McIntyre.

Drew McIntyre reveals what bothers him about NXT

Since returning to WWE, Drew McIntyre hasn’t exactly been shy about voicing his opinion, whether it’s expressing his desire to challenge for the NXT Championship or his intention to help NXT grow as a brand.

That outspokenness even extends to talking about what he doesn’t like about NXT.

During a recent Facebook Live interview with Kayla Braxton, the Scottish Superstar — who was in Riverside, Calif., for his first NXT Live tour since making his WWE return last month — revealed what he would like to change about the black-and-yellow brand.

“The way I see it, I need people to stop thinking of it as ‘moving up,’” McIntyre said of instances when a Superstar moves from NXT to Raw or SmackDown LIVE. “That’s the only thing I see with the roster and perhaps the fans is the perception that moving a brand is moving up. I don’t see it that way. These people are so, so talented.”

The Scottish Superstar touched on a number of other topics beyond making NXT an equal to Raw and SmackDown LIVE, from naming NXT’s hardest hitters (Oney Lorcan, Aleister Black and Roderick Strong all received shout-outs) to speaking about the reception he’s received since signing with NXT.

You can watch the entire interview below, and keep an eye peeled for future Facebook Live interviews on NXT’s official Facebook page.
