 Drew McIntyre

While many fellow 15-year-olds were worried about sitting at the “popular table” at lunchtime, Drew McIntyre was already training to become a WWE Superstar. He didn’t have to wait terribly long to achieve his dream, either, as the endlessly athletic Scotsman skyrocketed from the U.K. independent scene to the big show, WWE, at just age 22. The outlook was so bright for the 6-foot-5 McIntyre that when he first arrived, Mr. McMahon labeled him a “future World Champion.” The Chairman was eventually proven correct, though fulfilling that prophecy did not come easily for McIntyre.

Heyman begins his usual introduction. He apologizes and says it’s their job to come out and hype WrestleMania 36 tonight, and this is the most loaded WrestleMania in history, but the main event is a sham. Fans boo. Heyman says everyone knows it. “They” want to sell you on Drew McIntyre but Drew is a hyped up fraud. Fans boo. Heyman goes on about the Royal Rumble Match and what happened with Drew eliminating Lesnar. That doesn’t mean Drew can beat Brock, let alone at WrestleMania. Heyman calls Drew a “stupid big bitch that’s going to get squashed” but the music interrupts and out comes the #1 contender.

Drew hits the ring and they stare each other down. Lesnar goes to exit the ring but stops to turn around. Lesnar charges but Drew meets him in the middle of the ring with a big Claymore Kick as fans pop. Lesnar is laid out. Drew marches to the stage as his music hits. A stunned Heyman checks on Lesnar in the ring as we go to replays. Lesnar struggles to get to his feet as a “you deserve it!” chant breaks out. Fans start singing “goodbye!” to Lesnar as Heyman helps him out of the ring.

Lesnar is furious as he backs up the ramp, clutching the title. Drew suddenly runs back out and levels Lesnar on the stage with another Claymore. Fans pop for Drew. Drew grabs the WWE Title belt and raises it over Lesnar as fans cheer him on. Drew yells out and drops the title. Fans chant for one more Claymore. Lesnar slowly gets up but Drew puts him right back down with a third Claymore. Drew yells at Lesnar as a “holy shit!” chant starts up. Lesnar is laid out now. Drew stands tall as his music starts back up and he points up at the WrestleMania 36 banner. Heyman checks on Lesnar again as we go to replays. We go to commercial.

We go backstage to a pre-recorded sitdown interview with Charly Caruso and Drew McIntyre. Drew says he doesn’t care who wins at WWE Super ShowDown on Thursday, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar or challenger Ricochet, it’s irrelevant to him. Drew goes on about his time with WWE, going back 13 years ago. He talks about not winning any major titles since then and says he has had no one to blame but himself. They also talk about his run in NXT and coming back to RAW as a man after originally leaving home as a boy. Drew says he shows that he is living proof that if you work hard, you can do whatever you want. Drew also talks about eliminating Lesnar in the Royal Rumble. Charly asks what he was thinking and Drew said he just knew he had to eliminate Lesnar. He talked more about Lesnar and said once again that he doesn’t care who it’s against, he will fulfill his destiny at WrestleMania 36.

Drew McIntyre vs. MVP

We go back to the ring and Rome introduces Drew McIntyre as man who won the Royal Rumble and will go on to challenge WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Drew takes the mic and gets the crowd hyped up for WrestleMania. Drew says Flair already pointed to the sign tonight so he’s going to do one better. Drew calls on the fans to point with him, and everyone points at the sign. Drew says these days Suplex City is located in Claymore country and come WrestleMania, he’s demolishing that bitch to the ground. Drew is interrupted by Paul Heyman, who comes down the ramp with a mic. Heyman works the mic and goes introduce his client but Lesnar isn’t showing. Drew waits for a fight. Fans boo Heyman. Heyman goes on about Lesnar beating Ricochet at Super ShowDown, then beating McIntyre at WrestleMania. McIntyre remains confident and shuts Heyman down.

Heyman, still speaking from the stage, finally introduces MVP and out he comes. MVP says Heyman might not have an issue with Drew, but he does. MVP says he invited Drew to The VIP Lounge last week as an old friend, treated him with respect… fans do the “What!?” treatment. MVP enters the ring and the talk continues. MVP says Drew hit him with a cheap shot last week but he promises to whoop Drew this week and it won’t be a cheap shot. MVP calls for the bell and delivers a cheap shot to Drew anyway. MVP with the big Yakuza Kick in the corner. Drew is upset.

The bell rings and MVP immediately runs into a huge shot from Drew, who isn’t thrilled. Drew tosses MVP into the corner and unloads with strikes. The referee tries to pull him off. Drew runs into an elbow but comes back with a Futureshock DDT out of nowhere for a pop. Drew leads the crowd in a 3-2-1 countdown, then levels MVP with a big Claymore. Drew covers for the pin for the easy win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

After the match, Drew stands tall as his music hits. Heyman is already nowhere to be seen. We go to replays. Drew poses in the corner and points up at the WrestleMania 36 banner.

Back from the break and MVP is in the ring with the setup for The VIP Lounge. Some fans chant his name. He gives an intro and says he gave back because he had an itch to scratch, and he’s still ballin’ like Roddy Ricch. MVP goes on and introduces his guest for tonight. Outcomes Drew McIntyre for a pop.

Drew marches down the ramp and he’s stopped by two guys at the bottom of the ramp, who aren’t sure about letting him through MVP’s red ropes. They want to check his name on the guest list but he powers past them and hits the ring. MVP gives Drew some props for doing things his own way and they mention the WrestleMania 36 match with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. Drew jokes about pointing to the sign and he does for a pop. MVP wants Drew to keep his eye on the prize and ignore what the non-VIP people are saying behind his back. MVP goes on about how some people think Drew isn’t ready to be champion. Not MVP, but some people. MVP goes on and there’s some tension brewing. MVP wants to be Drew’s business manager, to help guide him. Drew says that’s the catch.

Drew says maybe MVP could be his Paul Heyman. MVP agrees but he would be a much better-looking version. Drew says the difference between he and Lesnar is that he doesn’t need an external brain thinking for him, someone talking for him, or a business partner kissing his ass like MVP is doing. MVP says Drew knows better, he’s never been an ass kisser, but he is an ass-kicker. They face off for a second. Drew goes to leave but MVP grabs his arm and tells him not to turn his back because he needs MVP.

Drew drops MVP with a Glasgow Kiss headbutt. Drew gets hyped up and takes his shirt and jacket off as fans pop. He counts down from 3 and drops MVP with a Claymore kick when he gets up. Drew mocks the “Ballin’” gesture for a laugh from the crowd. Drew poses in the corner and points up at the WrestleMania sign as his music hits. We go to replays.
